Beatriz Peñalver shows her new collection at Conde Duque
BEATRIZ PEÑALVER presents a collection which tributes an independent and feisty woman, which as her protagonist, Doñaflor, does not comply with, orders, she follows her own rules, she takes risks and she wins.
Flamenco airs and bullfighting touches, the collection’s floral prints have been made in collaboration with artist Javier Domenech. Through embroidery, fringe and frill applications, Peñalver makes a plea to Made in Spain, to her commitment to sustainability and the use of natural fabrics, among which cotton stands out in the form of canvas or fresh perforated fabrics.
Bold, vital and colourful, the new proposal of the Granada designer for the next spring-summer season is presented at the Conde Duque Cultural Centre in a fashion show with the brand’s friends that had a tasting of products awarded with the Premios de Alimentos de España putting a final touch to the 71st edition of Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week Madrid.

The sweetness and candour of Juan Vidal’s woman
Each JUAN VIDAL collection has a woman's name, this time he introduces us to Barbara, a character that oozes sweetness and delicacy. Sensual, fluid and calm, this fashion proposal invites you to enjoy contemplation.
Inspired by the figure of British writer Barbara Cartland, author of more than 600 love novels, Vidal presents creations that generate sensory emotions. The teddy bear becomes the collection’s key element, its cuddliness and candour translates into enveloping coats with furry buttons that incite to be caressed, delicious tailoring garments in chocolate tones, and delicate silk satin dresses topped with untied bows.
Juan Vidal thus shows a proposal full of contradictory feelings that bring out the thin line between sweet and sensual. The romantic looks by the designer from Alicante are complemented with crystal shoes and fetish stiletto boots made in a new collaboration with firm MAGRIT.

Ulises Mérida and the beauty of disorder
ULISES MÉRIDA uploads a collection full of disorders and disagreements to the MBFWM runway. As if it were a metaphor about his firm’s recent move, after leaving the Barrio de las Letras to move to Salesas, overlays become the main feature of his fashion proposals.
A theatre lover, the Manchego designer takes as a starting point the work of Pirandello, the master of absurd theatre, to showcase a proposal that seeks perfection in disorder. Disagreements, contrasts and asymmetries are the key to chaotic and surprising styling, in which many garments are combined in an anarchically aesthetic way.
Pieces of elastic velvet, which are glued to the woman's body, are the basis of looks that are completed with wide padded coats, thick knitwear, cloth scarves topped with fringes and imposing pieces of leather. Its essential iridescent and metallic finishes give light to a collection full of mystery and obscurantism.

THE FUTURE OF FERNANDO CLARO’S BRAND
Green Light is the name of the new fashion proposal of the family fashion brand, led by Fernando Claro and his daughter Beatriz. This is one of the most special collections that they have created so far. The pandemic and the profound changes that the sector is experiencing have prompted them to open new horizons beyond the classic vision of tailor-made couture.
The fashion brand from Seville is prepared for the changes that the future brings. A commitment that is reflected through the use of technical and insulating fabrics in multifunctional garments with elastic pieces and polypropylene threads that adapt to the female body. Futuristic designs and sporty details are the protagonists of their proposals for the next spring / summer 2021 season in which freedom and courage are raised as their motto.
Fernando Claro gains strength and accelerates at full speed towards a new direction presenting his collection in a new format. The brand presents on the Mercedes- Benz Fashion Week Madrid runway its first fashion film starring actress Ana Rujas, influencer Lady Addict and model Esther Rodríguez, a commitment to the digital revolution that has arrived to stay in this veteran Sevillian couture house.

Juana Martín takes the beauty of Medina Azahara to Paris
Fashion designer Juana Martín presented “La Ville Lumineuse” at the Dosne-Thiers Foundation in Paris, a collection that combines the exuberance of Cordova, and the cultural richness of its streets with the light that Paris emanates.
With her new spring-summer 2020 proposal, Juana Martín pays tribute to the Medina Azahara and the splendour of Al Ándalus, just in time to celebrate a year after the declaration of this spectacular space as a World Heritage Site. The beautiful and tragic stories kept among the walls of the great work built by order of Abderramán III, inspire the creations of the designer from Cordova. Being a symbol of power and superiority towards its enemies, the marvellous walls of "the bright city" covered in marble, gold and precious stones are reflected in each piece of the collection, providing delicate artisan wealth. Fluid fabrics and tulles full of rhinestones reflect perfectly the beauty of the Medina.
Once again, Juana Martín takes the charms and treasures of Cordova to the global fashion capital. As in each of her collections, the designer searches again within herself, her origins, her beliefs and the devotion she feels for her homeland. This has been the designer from Cordova’s fourth fashion show held within the structure of Paris Fashion Week, a presentation for which she has once again enjoyed the collaboration of Tolentino Haute Hats. The Sevillian high-end milliner firm has joined this spectacular tribute by creating exclusive, impressive headdresses that have taken the mystery and beauty of the Medina Azahara to the Parisian runway.

Custo begins a new phase in New York
Custo Barcelona presents a new collection titled Wet Paint at NYFW. As if it were a new house, the Catalan fashion brand is renewed and paints a new future with this fashion show, with which it begins a new phase after joining Italian group Velmar.
Custo Barcelona's proposal is highly emotional and honours female strength through experimental lines and volumes. The woman's body can be seen through cuts and windows, created with subtly placed strips, as well as short and long sets that fill the collection for spring-summer 2020 with contrasts.
Modernity is the thread of next season's fabrics. The most technical materials are mixed with others of ethnic inspiration, such as thick threaded jacquards in very bright colours, made by hand with old looms. White neoprene is a must, unifying the fashion proposals when combined with different elements, among which there is also colourful organza creating very original textures in the looks.
While the woman is the absolute protagonist of Wet Paint, and after several seasons without presenting a fashion proposal for men, Custo has showcased in this fashion show a part of the capsule collection for men. Colour is the main protagonist of the garments, among which highlighted are animal print sweatshirts and a selection of bathroom pieces made with technical fabrics.
