The main streets of La Latina became a runway to present the new spring-summer 2018 collection of MARÍA LAFUENTE in the first urban fashion show of the festival MADRID ES MODA organized with the collaboration of the City of Madrid, the Diputación de Huelva and the Association of Entrepreneurs of La Latina.
The designer presented a collection inspired by Doñana, the largest ecological reserve in Europe. A sustainable project which Maria wishes to claim conservation and to place value on all the plant and animal species that coexist in this space.
The green of the pines in the reserve in Huelva, flamenco pink and sand tones are the protagonists of a proposal made with innovative materials such as recycled car tires and organic weaves. María Lafuente presents in equal parts a sustainable and artistic collection, in which new technological fabrics are mixed with artisan embroidery from Carbajales de Alba (Zamora), a tradition with over four centuries of antiquity.
The production of the collection has been made by the Lal La Buya Association of Melilla, which offers training and support to women at risk of social exclusion, accompanying them in the development of their social and professional independence.
