Materials from the future

María Lafuente presented at Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week Madrid her ULLĀSA collection, a project that champions sustainable innovation through art, fashion, and craftsmanship. With this collection, the fashion designer weaves a narrative in which nature, science and culture intertwine in a single creative expression. The collection opens a space for material experimentation and collaborative work, reaffirming the fashion brand's pioneering spirit.

Inspired by a connection to that which is essential, ULLĀSA employs a color palette ranging from white and beige to mandarin orange, yellow, green, pink, and black. The fabrics—certified Tencel, cotton, linen, tulle, and lace—are complemented by innovative materials such as BioPeel, a biomaterial made from Seville bitter oranges in collaboration with students from UDIT, as well as waterproof merino wool from Añino. The project also incorporates Jeanologia's eco-friendly denim processing technology, further reinforcing commitment to responsible and circular processes.

The artisanal dimension is highlighted in lace and crochet pieces, created with the Arte-Sanas group in Madrid, as well as in the jewelry designed with Elena Larrén, who brings an artistic vision with an international reputation. The atmosphere of the fashion show is enhanced by original music by Álvaro Zeidan, together with contemporary dance by CIDANZ Producciones, whose artistic expressions amplify the message of fusion between art, sustainability, and emotion.

With ULLĀSA, María Lafuente once again demonstrates that fashion can be a laboratory that is alive, where innovation and culture converge to envision a more conscious future.
