From March 13th to 15th, 2026, Madrid will host the II International Congress of the Asociación Española de Sastrería (AES). The event, organized in collaboration with Madrid City Council and Forbes House, brings together the tailoring sector’s professionals, manufacturers, and institutions.
The event confirms the current visibility of Spanish tailoring, placing at the forefront a craft that combines tradition, industry, and material culture. Among AES member firms are ACME associates Félix Ramiro and Oteyza. Also, Paul García de Oteyza sits on the board of directors.
The program includes roundtables, conferences, and an Award Gala Dinner, together with the exhibit “Tailoring: from the Workshop to the Street” at the Museo del Traje and dedicated to the history and evolution of shirt-making and tailoring in Spain. International textile companies will participate, contributing technical expertise as well as a global perspective.
The Asociación Española de Sastrería (AES) was founded in 2017 as the trade’s first sectorial association in Spain, bringing together artisan tailors, bespoke tailors, shirt-makers, workshops, and textile manufacturers, promoting quality certifications, for both artisan and industrial tailoring, fostering training agreements, and managing job banks with the aim of ensuring the profession’s generational continuity.
For three days, tailoring returns to the public debate in Madrid, connecting the workshop with the street.
