Málaga Provincial Council, through Málaga de Moda and La Térmica Contemporary Culture Center, announced the second edition of David Delfín International Fashion Award for Original Talent. The approval decree (No. 2026/6265, dated August 26th) was published in the Official Gazette of the Province of Málaga on September 2nd and opens a ten-day period for submitting applications, until September 24th.
The award was established in 2024 in honor of David Delfín—Diego David Domínguez González, originally from Ronda and residing in Marbella, who was named a Favorite Son of the Province of Málaga in 2012 and served on ACME’s Board of Directors. The first edition, judged in November 2024 at La Térmica during the SPAM fashion show, received 92 entries—23% from abroad—and was won by French designer Naya Ahdab (Parsons Paris) with her collection “Neuroblastome.” ACME’S Executive Director, Pepa Bueno, was a member of the jury.
The competition is open to individuals or companies of any nationality, origin, or place of residence, with an original and unpublished fashion collection proposal that has not previously won any awards in other competitions; awards granted by fashion schools are excluded. The theme is open, with the jury evaluating the quality of the work, its innovative nature, and its contribution to culture or to the consolidation of the fashion industry.
Entries may be submitted in two formats: online and in person, with the submission for evaluation of a prototype of one of the collection’s looks.
A pre-selection committee will choose up to eight finalists, who will present their complete collection—between ten and fifteen looks—to a jury of five to seven fashion industry professionals at La Térmica. The private presentation will be followed by a public fashion show on November 19th and 20th, after which the jury will deliberate and announce its decision.
The first prize is €10,000; the winning collection may be showcased in the windowshop of a concept store, art gallery, or museum in the province of Málaga. The second prize consists of automatic qualification as a finalist in the following edition.
