Fuerteventura Fashion Week celebrated its fifth edition on October 17th at the Hotel El Mirador in Fuerteventura. This year, the novelty was a 61-meter outdoor runway, designed to incorporate the island’s landscape and identity into the fashion shows. This approach encapsulates the event’s purpose since its inception in 2021: to use fashion as a means to showcase Fuerteventura to the outside world and transform the island into a stage for presenting fashion collections.
The event is envisioned as a professional platform rather than merely a showcase. Its goal being to connect the island with designers, brands, industry professionals, the media, and emerging talent from other markets, while promoting Canarian talent, facilitating its international expansion.
Designers presenting their work on the runway included Beatriz Hernández, Beatriz Peñalver, FILST, Mado Vigarok, Marurí, Oswaldo Machín, Paola Barreto, Pilar Dalbat, and Raquel Díaz. Between the two segments of the fashion shows, a Kissing Room acted as a networking space for Spanish and international press, designers, models, institutional guests, and collaborating brands.
Fuerteventura Fashion Week is supported by the Cabildo de Fuerteventura, through its Department of Finance, Economic Promotion, Human Resources, and Employment Development, as well as by PROEXCA, via the initiative Canarias Islas de Moda, and Puerto del Rosario’s City Council. Additional support was provided by Audi Canarias and Ipanema Spain.
