Pilar Dalbat and Eugenia de Montijo arrive at Paris Fashion Week

29/02/2024

After its preview last February 14th at Madrid Fashion Week, Pilar Dalbat, born in Granada, brought her latest fashion proposal to the iconic City of Light. For “Gracia 12” the designer has developed a prêt-à-couture collection that brings together the house’s iconic symbols, artisanal techniques and emblematic silhouettes, which revolve around the figure of legendary Eugenia de Montijo.

The collection includes skirts with XL volumes, tops with the brand’s classic “nova” pleats, capes and spectacular evening dresses. Natural silk taffetas join tweed, mantilla lace, tulle and metallic, all hand-embroidered with sequins, beads and Murano crystals. The color barometer ranges from vanilla to gold and black. The narrative takes us, through color, to a journey to France during the second empire, to the “Napoleonic grandeur” but also to the designer’s hometown, Granada, with nods to such symbolic pieces as the Granada mantilla.

The collection is shown in a three-episode miniseries filmed in emblematic locations in the French capital, which were revealed at the close of the brand’s presentation. It is the work of young producer Francisco García Olmedo, CEO of the production company Curro Go, which is committed to contemporary fashion formats, based on visual art and focused on digital communication.
