Madrid City Council offers, in collaboration with ACME, the patterns of Madrid’s regional costumes, so that chulapas and chulapos, can make their own dresses and suits for San Isidro. Deputy mayor and delegate of Security and Emergencies, Inma Sanz, accompanied by the delegate of Culture, Tourism and Sports, Marta Rivera de la Cruz, together with Modesto Lomba, president of ACME, presented at the Museum of History of Madrid the patterns so that Madrid residents and visitors can design and make their own dresses and suits using a QR code.
This initiative aims to contribute to the survival of traditional crafts and promote Madrid’s regional costumes. Two patterns have been developed in different sizes: one for the women's dress and another for the men's suit; consisting of two pieces, trousers and waistcoat. The patterns have been made by Encarna Herencias, from the Madrid sewing workshop Con Alma de Costura.
