The executive director of the Asociación de Creadores de Moda de España (ACME), Pepa Bueno, has been a part of the selection committee for the XI edition of Emerging Design Month, an initiative promoted by Madrid's Museo del Traje in collaboration with Spanish fashion design schools.
For the first time, this edition adopts a contest format that brings together six projects selected from the country's most prominent teaching centers. The proposals are structured around a common theme: the contemporary reinterpretation of traditional clothing, taking as a starting point the Regional and Historical Costume Exhibition that took place in 1925, marking the centenary of the museum's founding collections.
Pepa Bueno's participation as a jury reinforces the professional sector's commitment to the new generations, and to a vision of fashion that combines innovation, memory and sustainability.
Among the selected schools are the Escola d’Art i Superior de Disseny de Castelló (EASD Castelló), UDIT, IED, CSDMM, Mestre Mateo, and Escuela de Arte 3, with projects that offer diverse views and that dialogue with tradition through contemporary languages, both analog and digital.
Emerging Design Month transforms the Museo del Traje into a platform that showcases the wealth of fashion education in Spain, while promoting the connection between historical research, creativity and commitment to the present.
