The Director of IED Madrid Dario Assante and the President of the Asociación de Creadores de Moda de España, Modesto Lomba have signed a collaboration agreement for the creation of the ACME Chair at IED Madrid.
Through this agreement, relations between the students of this centre of reference and the ACME partner companies will be strengthened, allowing students to approach the business reality of the sector and also allowing the Association’s companies to gain access to the creative talent that is shaped in IED Madrid.
The event was attended by Rocío Ortiz de Bethencourt, Director of IED Moda Madrid; Pepa Bueno, Executive Director of ACME, and Luis Aguilar, CEO of Tavex, one of the largest and most important manufacturers of denim in the world that, like ACME, have also created their own Chair in IED.
For Dario Assante, the ACME and Tavex Chairs "consolidate an aspect that is part of the DNA of the IED, the link with the business reality."
The two Chairs share common goals: the generation of knowledge, the transfer of knowledge and the linkage with the fashion industry. These agreements allow the students of IED Madrid greater contact with the companies whereas for ACME and Tavex it is a door open to creative talent.
In this sense, the Chairs include the participation of IED Madrid students in activities related to design, marketing, communication, e-commerce, fashion styling and image, as trainees, or the integration of alumni in the development of a specific project. A unique opportunity for these young designers, as they acquire an entrepreneurial vision based on experience.
