IIIrd Edition of the Premios Nacionales de la Moda

The Museo del Traje hosts the ceremony of the IIIrd Edition of the Premios Nacionales de la Moda / National Fashion Awards, during which have been awarded Roberto Torretta, Maria Ke Fisherman, El Corte Ingles, Neck & Neck, Woodys Barcelona, ​​Royo Textile Group, Flash Moda (TVE) and ISEM Fashion Business School.

H.M. Queen Letizia, accompanied by the General Secretary of Industry and SMEs, Begoña Cristeto, presided today the ceremony of these awards which are part of the support that from the Ministry of Industry, Energy and Tourism is given to the sector. The National Fashion Awards acknowledge the merit and the prestige of the fashion industry sector in Spain and finalist candidates represent those companies, individuals, institutions and organizations that have made significant efforts regarding business excellence in the sector. The jury has valued in all awardees their career path, their ability to adapt to the market at local and global level and capacity for innovation, in addition to their contribution to the development of the fashion industry in Spain, as they all are a reference in the various sub-sectors that make up this industry.

ACME members Roberto Torretta and Maria Ke Fisherman are recognized with the National Award for Fashion Designer. Roberto Torretta has received this award in the category of Trajectory, in recognition of his consolidated professional work in the fashion world, where he has worked for over 40 years. His expertise in the use of suede in his collections, the detailed manufacture of his garments and the minimal seal of his creations have made him one of the most recognized names in Spanish design.

The duo Maria ke Fisherman wins the National Fashion Award in the category of New Value. The brand, made up by Maria Lemus and Victor Alonso, focuses on the recovery of craftsmanship to bring about the most innovative design. In a very short career path, Maria ke Fisherman has managed to slip into relevant global multibrand points of sale such as Opening Ceremony, and become the brand of reference of contemporary music stars such as Miley Cyrus or Katy Perry.
