Maison Mesa’s four seasons

06/07/2019

Designer Maison Mesa turns the theatre Circo Price in Madrid into an improvised runway to present his new SS / FW 2020 collection, with an unusual fashion show based on the classic four seasons myth where women are the only protagonists.

For the staging of this performance, “Four Seasons of Phoenix”, premiered within Madrid es Moda’s framework of activities, the creator has enjoyed the collaboration of Dani Pannullo, choreographer and stage director, as well as actress Mariola Fuentes, who has starred in the fashion show’s different acts: spring, summer, fall and winter.

Maison Mesa’s spring arrives together with dresses that make a reference to baby clothes with Peter Pan collars or bloomers, made in light weaves, tulle, voile, poplin, or Mikado, all in immaculate white.

It is followed by summer with bathers who look like they were taken from a beach in Biarritz, Capri or Portofino in the 1930s, dressed in vibrant colours, turquoise, yellow, pink, in silk satin or Mikado. The fabrics increase in weight, drop and shine reaching fall with tuxedos in different silhouettes in eco-leather or neoprene, giant hound’s tooth plaids over fur or turquoise polka dots over black.

And finally, winter enters the scene with large volumes in sleeves, hems or around the face, made in sequins and in viscose and metal mesh over colours; silver, black, copper, gold, green and pink.

Mesa’s new proposal for 2020 arises with the designer’s intention to “investigate new ways of approaching the audience, increasingly eager for ideas that surprise and raise collections to the excellence of art”.
