Firm Maison Mesa presented, under the creative direction of Juan Carlos Mesa, the Spring/Summer 2027 collection, *LAST DANCE AT THE GRAND HOTEL*, in the cloister of Nebrija University during Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week Madrid. The fashion show is conceived as a full night, spanning from the sophistication of checking-in to the emotional truth of dawn.
LAST DANCE AT THE GRAND HOTEL converts an entire night into a fashion show. Maison Mesa constructs the collection around human connection, the glamour lived, and the freedom that arises when rules begin to fade away.
The inspiration draws from the atmosphere of grand European hotels and all-night dance marathons, echoing iconic movie They Shoot Horses, Don’t They? and the imagery created by David Bowie and Jean-Baptiste Mondino for the video of Never Let Me Down: bodies dancing on despite exhaustion, decadent sensuality, and a romanticism that belongs to the night. Nebrija University’s cloister is thus transformed into an imaginary hotel, suspended between desire, memory, and dawn.
Silhouettes shift as the runway show progresses, mirroring the night’s passing hours: a clean, geometric tailoring to check-in gives way to cocktail dresses and evening wear with refined lines, eventually leading to more relaxed, luminous looks designed for the ending of the after party moments. Maison Mesa blends its signature architectural elegance with a more sensual, fluid interpretation of the body, incorporating Bauhaus references and a vision of beauty that is inclusive and diverse.
