Round table “Intimate days”: Jewelry and Fashion at the Museo del Traje

Round table ‘Shy Sculpture: A dialogue between traditional and contemporary jewellery‘, curated by Helena Rohner, jewellery designer of eponymous brand, Helena Rohner, and Concha Herranz Rodríguez, responsible for the Museo del Traje’s jewellery collection. Pepa Bueno was in charge of leading the dialogue regarding jewellery, she was accompanied by Suma Cruz, Anton Heunis and Ainoa Corres Madrid, all of them jewellery designers with established professional careers and brands.

Susana Cruz, founder of the jewellery firm Suma Cruz, is the granddaughter of a jeweller. She studied History and Fashion Design, standing out especially in the creation of accessories for fashion shows. Suma Cruz also joined the bridal world, creating headdresses inspired by the 1930s. Her style has a certain bohemian air, inspired by nature, African tribes or the Native Indian cultures of North America.

Ainoa Corres graduated in Fashion Design. In 2014 she created her jewellery brand, Corres Madrid, which was active until 2021. She is currently creative director of Weareoktaaf, an international luxury jewellery brand based on antiques that is dedicated to recovering antiquities purchased at archaeological auctions to reconvert them into exclusive and unique jewellery and pieces.

Anton Heunis is a jewellery brand founded in 2004. Heunis is of South African origin, and trained in Fine Arts. Based in Madrid, the signature band is recognized for its exceptional craftsmanship and impressive designs, incorporating recycled crystals and antique glass. Inspired by vintage jewellery and cinematic aesthetics, each piece is meticulously handcrafted with love and attention to detail in his workshop.
