Ulises Mérida joins ACME

30/11/2015

The Asociación de Creadores de Moda de España added a new member with the incorporation of Ulises Mérida.

The creator from Toledo studied at the Centro Superior de Diseño de Moda de Madrid and completed his training at the Istituto Europeo di Design (IED) in Milan. Ulises Mérida is a very comprehensive fashion professional also specialized in draping techniques, design of footwear and leather goods, a training he received in specialized centres in Madrid and Copenhagen.

After stages through the ateliers of relevant names in national fashion such as Jesus del Pozo, where he carried the charge of designer of the collections; Agatha Ruiz de la Prada, where he served as Director of Design, and Roberto Torretta, for whom he worked as a draper, he founded his own label in 2013. Since September 2014 he has presented his collections during the official schedule of Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week Madrid. His creations are available in multi-brand stores in cities such as Madrid, Zaragoza, Oviedo and Zamora, besides in his atelier Siluro Concept, located in Madrid’s Barrio de las Letras.

Committed to the training of the future professionals of the sector, he combines his work as a designer with teaching at the European University of Madrid, and at the Istituto Europeo di Design (IED) in Madrid.

“To join ACME implies the satisfaction of being integrated in a team, that of the fashion industry in Spain, in order to join forces to defend their interests. Today nothing can be achieved without the pooling of collective intelligence placed at the service of promotion and broadcasting of the creators of our country. It is essential to work together and to pull in the same direction, ” declares Ulises Mérida.

With his arrival, ACME sums 54 Associates reaffirming its commitment towards the growth of this Association in order to represent the full sector of fashion creation in our country.
