In a thrilling gesture of recognition the Andalusian International Fashion Week, also known as SIMA41, organised by “Sevilla de Moda“, awarded last night during its latest edition at a wonderful gala in the Portuguese Embassy in Seville, an honorary award to Fernando Claro, the renowned Sevillian fashion designer. This award highlights the designer’s career spanning over 40 years during which he has championed not only Seville’s fashion, also Andalusian and Spanish, showcasing his vision in local and global fashion shows.

The Mayor of Seville, José Luis Sanz, presented this prestigious award highlighting Fernando Claro’s valuable contribution, from Seville, to the Spanish as well as the world’s fashion scene. Claro Couture is today a fashion benchmark leading, from Seville, the expansion of Andalusian fashion together with the talent of Spanish designers through stellar fashion shows and a strong digital presence, allowing the fashion firm to offer its designs worldwide, both Prêt-a-Portèr and Couture.

During his acceptance speech, Fernando Claro dedicated special words to the event’s organising team and the institutions present at the magnificent opening of the 22nd edition of the Andalusian International Fashion Week, established as a key event in the Andalusian fashion agenda. He dedicated the award principally to his wife and partner from the beginning, to his daughter Beatriz Claro and to the team of seamstresses and pattern makers at his atelier in the Andalusian city of Dos Hermanas.

Designer Fernando Claro’s recognition not only celebrates his contribution to fashion, it also reflects the innovative spirit and constant dedication of the Sevillian fashion designer, always pushing new boundaries for local design while keeping alive the essence and glamour of fashion in the city of Seville and the “well dressed” culture of Andalusian women.
