Devota & Lomba presents his spring-summer 2016 collection in the II nd Edition of Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week in Santo Domingo held at the Embassy Suites by Hilton from May 30th to June 3rd.
This collection takes orient as a source of inspiration, its architecture and geometry. The Japanese tradition of origami, a constant in the creative universe of the signature label directed by Modesto Lomba, stands out as the great protagonist of this collection. Earth tones and off-white are the base of his creations, which are filled with straight lines dyed in red and blue, alternating with daring doses of fluoride colors in garments with complex patterns.
During his stay in Santo Domingo, Modesto Lomba also participates in activities that allow him to get acquainted with current Dominican fashion. The Basque designer augurs an auspicious future to the fashion of the Dominican Republic: “creativity and designers have to be accompanied by the industry, this is paramount, and here there are tax free zones where brands can work,” he declared, also highlighting the craftsmanship and the great creativity of the Caribbean country.
