ACME designers say goodbye to MBFWM until the next edition

17/02/2014

Davidelfín, Hannibal Laguna, Juanjo Oliva and Miguel Marinero have been in charge of giving the finishing touch to the participation of the designers of ACME in the 59th edition of Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week Madrid. A day of fashion shows in which we have seen the more casual side, and also the more sophisticated, in urban and cosmopolitan collections designed to accompany women at any time of the day.

Davidelfín performs an autobiographical exercise with each collection. The objects, songs or experiences that accompany him in his daily life, together with designer Pelayo Diaz, have been the starting point to create No One. Details in Velcro and hooks act as a symbol of the union of the couple, creatively and personally. The Tahiti lamp by Ettore Sottsass inspires the prints “bacterium”, the base of a youthful proposal with significant doses of colour.

Hannibal Laguna presents One Hundred, which celebrates the one hundred collections that the designer has created since he began. True to his style, Laguna proposes creations with pearly sheens, delicate embroidery and meticulous pleats. Silhouettes from the 50s add the classic touch to a collection that highlights the bid by the designer for dyed black jeans, which are presented combined with sophisticated pieces made from luxurious mikado, silk gauze or macramé.

Juanjo Oliva has presented in MBFWM his proposals for Elogy, the brand of El Corte Inglés with which he has been collaborating for five seasons. This union grows even stronger by bringing to the runway Fall in Love, an urbanite and practical proposal aimed at accompanying, at any given moment, an uncomplicated and elegant woman. The colouring is key to Juanjo Oliva’s creations for next season. Sporty touches and casual styles coexist with the more traditional couture in a collection of intricate patterns.

The decade of the 90s inspires Urban Class, the collection by Miguel Marinero for next winter. The Madrid furrier has submitted a proposal of scintillating colours, with pink being the undisputed protagonist. Noble materials such as wool, tweed or cashmere are combined with luxurious furs creating a play between vanguard and carefree. Glamour and functionality coexist in a proposal replete with contrasts, placing a full stop to an edition of MBFWM in which 22 ACME designers have presented their collections.
