María Lafuente in a grand, inclusive fashion show

The fashion designer, whom is well known for her commitment to sustainability, art, and social justice, participated in an unprecedented fashion show on June 28th in Strasbourg: an inclusive catwalk that brought together, on equal terms and for the first time, professional models and blind or visually impaired people.

The fashion show, sponsored by the Horizon Usher Foundation as a part of the Entendez-Voir Festival, was held in the central Place Kléber to raise funds for research into the Usher syndrome, a rare genetic disorder that combines deafness and progressive vision loss. María Lafuente was one of the designers invited to dress-up the models, bringing her ethical, inclusive, and poetic perspective to fashion.

With audio description, sign language, live music, and dance, the event offered a sensorial, accessible, and deeply symbolic experience.

With her participation, María Lafuente, a member of the Asociación de Creadores de Moda de España (ACME), consolidates Spanish fashion's role as an agent of change, where aesthetics, ethics, and inclusion come together to project a more just, humane, and committed vision of the fashion sector.
