Isla Bonita Moda presented at Gran Canaria Swim Week, Solajero: from sunrise to sunset. Under the La Palma seal, Atelier El Tesoro, Juan Manuel Simón, Gohemm, Julia Brito, La Sereca, Maru La Palma, Sara Luis, Rayco Plata, Raquel Sanjuán, Shamelu, and Xanalue created a collection inspired by light’s journey across the island. A narrative that unfolds from dawn to dusk, transforming the landscape into a visual and sensory experience.
The collection unfolds as a journey through La Palma. Light acts as the guiding thread, traversing coasts, peaks, and volcanic landscapes, bringing to the runway the territory’s constant transformation throughout the day. Each moment encounters its own chromatic language, reflecting how the island changes with the passing hours.
Dawn is expressed through soft pink, luminous beige, and blue gray, evoking the tranquility of the eastern coast. As the sun rises, humid green hues, aquatic reflections, and mineral tones emerge, arousing the strength of the island’s interior. Finally, the journey culminates in a palette of intense pink, orange, violet, and volcanic black inspired by the setting sun’s warm light.
The shapes reflect this evolution. The initial designs convey lightness and delicacy, while the pieces gain presence and structure during the middle section. As the day draws to a close, the silhouettes acquire greater visual intensity, complementing the chromatic depth that defines the collection’s finale. Solajero traverses La Palma from east to west, following the light’s movement and transforming each moment in the landscape into a distinct way of experiencing the island.
