19/09/2024

The 80th edition of Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week Madrid concluded with the presentation of the L’Oréal Paris Awards in the categories of Best Model and Best Collection, and the jury’s decision has surprised due to its commitment to diversity and excellence twice over.

In the case of Best Model award, the winner has been Pino Montesdeoca, the 62-year-old model who breaks down barriers and challenges stereotypes on the runway as well as in advertising campaigns. The model, from the Canary Islands, has become one of the most sought-after faces in the current fashion scene, proving that maturity holds a degree.

As for the Best Collection, this year there was another exceptional event, with an “ex aequo” award given to Fashion Houses Pedro del Hierro and Isabel Sanchis. On one hand, Valencian designer Isabel Sanchis and her collection inspired by the artistic practice of sculpture. The second award-winning collection was that of Pedro del Hierro, a celebration of the firm’s 50th anniversary, inspired by the 1987/88 collection, the first for men and women presented by the unforgettable fashion designer.
