Madrid Design Festival 2026

The Fundación Academia de la Moda Española (FAME) participated on February 17th, in the ninth edition of Madrid Design Festival with the Fashion Design Cycles, which were held at the Institución Libre de Enseñanza. The event brought together fashion designers and brands linked to ACME, many of whom were recognized in the first two editions of the Fundación Academia de la Moda Española Awards.

FAME organized three roundtables that fostered a dialogue between ACME’s members, and other fashion industry professionals, on issues that are currently shaping independent design: collection presentation formats, contemporary aesthetic codes, and creative processes in jewelry.

The first session, “Is the Fashion Show Dead? New Formats and Narratives” was participated by the creative directors of Pedro del Hierro and Oteyza. The panel addressed the transformation of fashion shows and their adaptation to other performing forms and languages.

The second session brought together Carlota Barrera, Mans, and Tíscar Espadas, with a conversation that revolved around identity, craft, and global context.

The third session, featured Helena Rohner, Isidoro Hernández, and Suma Cruz, and was dedicated to jewelry, broadening the focus to include key trade disciplines in fashion design.

The roundtable sessions began with a welcome address by Pepa Bueno, vice president of FAME and executive director of ACME, and Sergio Álvarez, director of FAME, to institutional representatives, patrons, and members of the Academia. The sessions were held as part of the Design Festival’s official program.
