The Princes of Asturias, accompanied by the Minister of Education, Culture and Sport and the Secretary of State for Culture, among other authorities, presented the National Awards granted by the Ministry corresponding to the years 2011 and 2012. During the ceremony, held at the Palacio del Pardo in Madrid, ACME Honorary Associates Elio Berhanyer and Manolo Blahnik received their awards in the category of Fashion Design. A recognition of the extended career of two of the biggest names in international Spanish fashion. Elio Berhanyer, National Design Fashion Awardee for 2011, and Manolo Blahnik, winner of the Award in 2012, collected their honors at a ceremony in which they were endorsed by their peers from the sector such as the president of ACME, Modesto Lomba, designer Francis Montesinos and managing director of ACME, Lucia Cordeiro, among others.
