Modus, in the manner of Spain

The Council of Culture, Tourism and Sports of the Community of Madrid opens the exhibition “Modus, in the manner of Spain” in the space Canal de Isabel II, an exhibit that takes a tour around Spanish fashion history, from the XIX century to the present, through garments that exude Spanish character.

This spectacular exhibition, which can be seen until March 3rd, is participated by 19 fashion brands associated to the Asociación de Creadores de Moda de España, whose designs join other international brands such as Givenchy, John Galliano or Dries Van Noten, regional costumes, wonderful garments from the funds of the Museo del Traje and pictorial art works.

The idea of that which is ​​”Spanish” floods the halls of this exhibit, in which a review is made of the style of Court dress, the Goyesque, the Andalusian universe, bullfighting, tradition and religious iconography through the work of great couture professionals such as Mariano Fortuny, Balenciaga, Pertegaz or Antonio del Castillo; fashion creators who innovated and created a new way of fashion like Jesús del Pozo or Paco Rabbanne; fashion veterans such as Agatha Ruiz de la Prada, Devota & Lomba, Lydia Delgado, Fernando Lemoniez, Victorio & Lucchino, Roberto Torretta, Francis Montesinos or Andrés Sardá, and contemporary fashion brands such as Ana Locking, Leandro Cano, Juan Vidal, Duyos, Amaya Arzuaga, Davidelfin, Juana Martín, Juanjo Oliva, Manémané and Oteyza.

A display of pieces meticulously selected to highlight the creative talent, and mastery of the trade of the great masters from the history of Spanish fashion.
