Helena Rohner, winner of the Gold Medal for Merit in Fine Arts

02/11/2015

Jewellery designer Helena Rohner was awarded the 2014 Gold Medal for Merit in Fine Arts.

This award, which is given annually by the Spanish Ministry of Education, Culture and Sports to outstanding cultural personalities, is one of the highest distinctions in artistic creation and recognizes the career of one of the most international designers in Spanish fashion.

The creations of the designer from the Canary Islands, which are not only limited to the world of jewellery, include design projects in ceramics and decorative objects for highly recognized global companies such as Georg Jensen, Munio or Kahler.

Helena Rohner bases her creations on purity and simplicity of form, producing a surprising combination of materials in her designs.  She has developed a very sensitive creative process throughout her career, having been influenced by her environment and the people with whom she has collaborated since her beginnings in the fashion world in 1997.

One of her most recent collaborations was with Davidelfin, creating with the Malaga designer the jewellery pieces for his last two runway collections.[:]
