Intimacy as a visible frontier

17/10/2025

Carlota Barrera presented her Spring Summer 2026 collection at 080 Barcelona Fashion. In her collection, the fashion designer explores intimacy as a space of tension: what remains hidden and what chooses to be revealed, generating a sensitive dialogue between that which is public and privacy.

The designer bases her inspiration on the codes of lingerie—sheer fabrics, straps, hidden closures—revisited through the lens of men’s tailoring. This intimate universe translates into a collection that questions menswear from within, situating itself ambiguously between formal and informal, visible and invisible.

The structure of the menswear suit isn’t softened, but rather redefined: topstitching evokes stocking seams, braids recall bra structures, ribbons suggest garter belts. Fabrics act as a second skin, and shape as a gesture of seduction and vulnerability. The palette remains understated, and local craftsmanship is evident in the details that permeate each piece.

The collection concludes with an intimate story as Barrera discloses how the tension between revealing and concealing lies within her unique fashion language.
