Maya Hansen studied at the Centro Superior de Diseño de Moda de Madrid, and began her career collaborating with designer Javier Larrainzar. In 2002 she presented her first collection on the Gaudí runway and two years later she created her own fashion brand. It is in 2006 when she specializes in the creation of corsets as an outer garment, which has become a hallmark of her work. In her creations she combines traditional corsetry techniques with contemporary design.
For three seasons Maya Hansen participates in the EGO platform for new creators until 2011 when she takes the leap to the official runway joining Madrid Fashion Week fashion show schedule. In 2012 the designer from Madrid is one of the finalists of the first edition of Vogue’s Who's on Next Awards.[:]
