Third day of fashion shows in the 65th edition of MBFWM

19/02/2017

Tribes on the verge of extinction, colourful nomadic horsemen and the images of photographer Jimmy Nelson compose the imaginary that has served as a source of inspiration for the duo Ailanto. Their proposals transport us to Patagonia through prints and accessories. Looks composed of wraparound ponchos, dresses with ruffles, vests and wide sleeve sweaters add the gaucho touch to the collection.

Ulises Mérida pays homage to the female figure as a pillar of society. Totem is a collection with self confidence, full of colourful and daring prints. Large wraparound pieces, made in Ezacaray mohair symbolize the protective character of the woman. The sequins surround the body like armour and are mixed with other lighter garments made in satin or silk knit.

Rock can be flamenco as shown by Juana Martín on the MBFWM catwalk. ‘Rock-Uz’ is a collection that mixes the best of the 80’s with Andalusian folklore. A mix entertained live by Medina Azahara, an exceptional soundtrack for a concert of ruffles, embroidered laces and printed stars, with chords in white, black and red.

Maria Ke Fisherman makes use of regular references already in their collections. The big city and the road are again the source of inspiration for their proposals for next season. The brand has relied on tire company Bridgestone, the leader of Japanese-origin tires, to create a capsule collection that connects the passion of both brands for asphalt.

Custo Barcelona lands on the MBFWM runway recently arrived from New York Fashion Week. The brand debuts in Madrid fashion week with a collection with shininess as a main protagonist, both for day and night looks. The mixture of textures and fabrics is the thread of their proposals, which are rejuvenated to reach new audiences.
