Marcos Luengo and Claudy Jongstra, art and sustainability

On April 8th, the Almudín Museum in Valencia hosted a performance that fused fashion, art, and environmental commitment. Fashion designer Marcos Luengo and textile artist Claudy Jongstra presented a unique collaboration within the framework of Jongstra's exhibition, with a proposal that underscored the importance of recovering traditional techniques and using sustainable materials. The intervention stood out for its visual delicacy and the deep connection between both creative disciplines, which find their common starting point in nature and raw materials.

In this collaboration, Luengo worked directly on textile pieces made by Jongstra, using her works as a basis for creating two exclusive designs, which were presented at the event. Using wool from native sheep and natural pigments, Jongstra provided the perfect canvas for the designer, who contributed his signature touch: clean silhouettes, meticulous finishes, and a timeless vision of fashion. The performance was a celebration of authenticity, the artisanal process, and the value of collaboration as a tool for building a more sustainable future through artistic creation.
