Firm Mariano Moreno presents at Barcelona Bridal Fashion Week the 2027 bridal collection, “Groundbreaking“, opening the week with proposals that place nature at the creative process’ heart. The collection offers a direct interpretation of botany as a living, ever-changing system, translated into the language of bridal haute couture.
Taking as its starting point the famous quote “Florals? For spring? Groundbreaking!”, uttered by Miranda Priestly and interpreted by Meryl Streep in the film The Devil Wears Prada, the collection challenges that which is predictable and proposes a new narrative for bridal fashion. This reference activates the starting point: the flower ceases to be merely ornamental and becomes the garment’s organizing principle. The collection is built upon this idea, understanding the organic as structure, tension, and movement, and positioning the wedding dress in a realm closer to the garment than to being a mere adornment.
On the runway, volume and silhouette seem to grow from the fabric itself. The surfaces operate with an almost plant-like logic, and the palette complements this evolution without losing clarity. The collaboration with milliner Rafa Peinador introduces headpieces that extend the construction of each look while maintaining an overall formal coherence.
The closing piece, with Sita Abellán, concentrates the idea into a recognizable image: the dress takes the form of a bridal bouquet and transforms it into a garment. The presence of Hugáceo Crujiente adds a performative layer that reinforces the collection’s theatrical character, while the jewelry, from brand TOUS, is integrated into the ensemble as part of that same construction.
The collection evolves from within, as if each garment finds its form through its own growth.
