David Delfín has been awarded the National Fashion Design Award granted every year by the Ministry of Education Culture and Sport and that since 2009, has rewarded a creator in recognition of his professional career.
The designer from Malaga creates the signature brand Davidelfin with the Postigo brothers (Deborah, Diego and Gorka) and model Bimba Bosé in 2001. Delfín came into fashion through painting, using military garments as a canvas for his work. In 2002 he presented his first collection in Madrid fashion week and in 2009 he made the international leap with his debut at New York Fashion Week, where he participated for four seasons.
The brand Davidelfin is a multidisciplinary project where different creative manifestations coexist, applying their brand identity to different sectors such as optics, decoration or costumes for stage, where they emphasize their collaborations with filmmaker Pedro Amodóvar, the National Company of Dance and Carte Blanche, the Norwegian Company of Contemporary Dance. Recently, it won the competition called by the Ministry of Agriculture, Food and Environment to redesign the Foods of Spain logo, shaping his creative universe in the new image of this brand that distinguishes the best agricultural food products of our country.
For members of the jury, David Delfin "has managed to break through the barriers between fashion and art, genres and generations, commercial and artistic. The strength of his creative message makes him a recipient of the 2016 National Fashion Design Award. "
The creator thus becomes part of a list of illustrious awardees in which are distinguished professionals of the sector such as Pertegaz, Manolo Blahnik, Elio Berhanyer, Paco Rabanne, Amaya Arzuaga, Josep Font and Sybilla.[:]
