Sunday fashion in MBFWM

16/02/2014

Andrés Sardá, Ana Locking, Victorio & Lucchino, Ion Fiz and Agatha Ruiz de la Prada presented their collections on the third day of fashion shows in Madrid Fashion Week during which they submitted a substantive geography lesson in fashion. The designers proposed a creative journey ready to transport us to U.S.A., inside Spain or to a universe of multi-coloured fantasies.

Las Vegas and disco aesthetics have been the source of inspiration for Nuria Sardá who takes us to an imaginary party full of sequins, feathers and lace. Her lingerie creations, for the label Andrés Sardá, are presented more sophisticated than ever resulting in collection filled with objects of desire. Garments made of delicate materials outline the female body to celebrate its beauty. A cult to Carpe Diem and to seduction.

Ana Locking presents American Landscape a remarkable road trip through the most emblematic scenery of U.S.A. travelling through the textures and colours of her clothes. In search of the American dream, touring Yellowstone and its oxide colouring, orange Arizona or the glitz of Las Vegas. Cowboy boots, hats, shirts inspired by the cowboys and hairy applications transport us to Texas, while her proposals for the evening are loaded with metallic sheens that lead us to the skyscrapers of New York.

The duo Victorio & Lucchino presented their collection, titled 2014, a proposal with renovated airs. Artisan embroidery of flowers and ethnic touches blend with technical fabrics and oversized silhouettes. A contemporary and functional proposal with low-waist evening wear, skirts with distinct openings and bare backs. The creations from Seville are presented upon a flat shoe, a touch of modernity for a collection relying on a black foundation.

Ion Fiz journeys inside Spain with the collection Geography. The landscapes of the arid central plateau inspire a colour palette where ochre, brown, grey or green predominate. Natural fabrics such as wool, mohair and silk are presented in garments with classic cuts, which are renewed through unexpected overlays and contrasting materials and textures.

Agatha Ruiz de la Prada exercises a review of her creative universe through the prints that, throughout her more than 30 years of experience, have been stamped in numerous products, which are present in markets around the world. Flowers, hearts, XL squares, clouds or stars comprise the distinct Agatha hallmark, which multiplies and is taken to the extreme in a proposal with touches from the seventies that focuses all the attention on the print.
