Fashion beyond the glass: Professional window dressing competition

11/07/2019

When Madrid es Moda arrives, the shop windows of the capital dress up to showcase in the most original and spectacular manner the fashion brands or creators designs that participate in the Window Dresssing Competition, one of the key pillars of the festival since it was created. The vision and experience of the window dressers is at stake in the case of the professional category, as is the learning and talent to be demonstrated by the students in the novel category.

In this sixth edition, which has the collaboration of Madrid Fashion Capital, Madrid City Council platform, Reale SegurosMarcelo Vilá and El Corte Inglés as sponsors, the following professionals compete:

Moisés Nieto participates with an environmental fashion proposal to stop massive consumption of low cost garments and educate the consumer. It can be seen in Lab Lamarca, in the Las Salesas district of Madrid (C / Fernando VI, 10 Local 3).

Brand Imaginative Fashion, competing for the first time in this edition, has chosen three of their most original designs to participate, exhibited at the Moda Shopping mall (Local 42, ground floor).

Designer and artist Lara Padilla exhibits in the shop window of the Hotel Emperador in the heart of the Gran Vía, her latest fashion collection “VIS a VISA”.

Brand Lauwood participates in their own store in La Moraleja Green shopping centre (South Building, Floor 1, Local A-28) with a selection of handbags made of wood and carbon fiber K12, used exclusively in the aerospace industry.

Brand specializing in bespoke dresses for brides and guests, Paniculata, gets together with the Ribes & Casals fabric store, to showcase some of their designs made with the store’s own fabrics, in their shop window on Calle Atocha, 26.

Designer Miguel Marinero, together with the Incasa decoration studio, takes us to Africa with a very special fashion proposal that exhibited in Calle Villanueva, 5.

In their own space on Calle Justiniano, 14, Lexdeux fashion brand participates in this 6th edition dressing up their window shop.

Fashion brand Pedro del Hierro, creator of the image of Madrid es Moda for this edition, exhibits their fahion proposal for the competition in their flagship store in the capital (C/Goya, 29).

And finally, designer Roberto Verino bets to participate with the design and decoration of the shop window of his own store in Madrid, Serrano 33.

Good luck to! The winners will be announced next July 15th at the awards ceremony to be held at the Hotel Iberostar Las Letras. Madrid Fashion Capital, Madrid City Council`s platform, Reale SegurosMarcelo Vilá and El Corte Inglés make possible this VI call of the Window Dressing Competition.
