The brooch, a silent story

14/09/2025

The Escultura Tímida Collective explores the brooch as an artistic piece in this exhibit created exclusively for Madrid es Moda. “Prendidos” is a collective exhibition of contemporary jewelry open to the public at the Alacela space in Lavapiés. The exhibition explores the symbolic power of the brooch as an artistic piece, conceived not only as an ornament, but as a gesture of identity linked to clothing.

The exhibit brings together twenty creators who, from diverse backgrounds and styles, construct a collective narrative regarding the value of said artisanal object. Among them are Helena Rohner and Suma Cruz, ACME associates. Their shared dialogue highlights the tension between utility and expression, tradition and contemporaneity.

The pieces oscillate between the sculptural and the narrative, exploring materials and forms that transform jewelry into a personal and cultural symbol. The brooch appears as a meeting point between body and object, an intimate bond that redefines the relationship between fashion and art.

Thus, “Prendidos” asserts itself as an exercise in memory and the present, where jewelry is offered to the viewer as a territory of reflection and beauty.
