Canarias Islas de Moda, an initiative that groups Canarian Fashion and is dedicated to its overall promotion, presented at Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week Madrid a selection of nine brands from the archipelago. Their fashion proposals ranged from ready-to-wear and streetwear to jewelry, leather goods, and handcrafted footwear. The project is driven by the Government of the Canary Islands through Proexca, with the aim of boosting the visibility, professionalization, and outreach of the islands’ creative talent beyond the archipelago.
Canarias Islas de Moda operates in collaboration with the fashion programs of the island’s councils; Tenerife Moda, Gran Canaria Moda Cálida, Lanzarote Moda, and Isla Bonita Moda. This alliance unites the creative diversity of the various islands under a single banner to promote it collectevely.
The fashion show featured designs by Marco & María, Aurelia Gil, Alex Menorca, Viperinas, Chacho SVNRS, and Diazar Atelier, alongside jewelry by Roselinde, handbags by Angie Vázquez, and handcrafted leather footwear by BAN. Spanning evening wear, streetwear, ready-to-wear, jewelry, leather goods, and footwear, these nine brands represent the creative diversity of the Canary Island’s fashion sector.
