Beatriz Peñalver presented on October 17th thirteen looks centered around the theme LUX during the fifth edition of Fuerteventura Fashion Week. Five of these are couture designs created by Peñalver Brand for the project “LUX: Andalusian Fashion in 21st-Century Culture.”
These five pieces draw inspiration from Granada, its landscapes, culture, and artisanal traditions, sharing a brown color palette that evokes the earth and the firm’s connection to its place of origin. Corsetry and asymmetrical volumes define the silhouette, while intricate embroidery, fringe, appliqués, and beadwork complete each design.
The remaining eight looks expand the color palette and showcase the firm’s various lines: guest attire, upcycled pieces, and urban-inspired styles. Off-white and ivory tones feature prominently in designs intended for the different moments that surround a wedding, such as pre- or post-wedding events, or as a second bridal gown, with other color accents adding contrast to the collection.
Peñalver founded her firm in 2012 in Almuñécar, blending traditional Andalusian influences with a contemporary perspective. Her upcycling line transforms vintage tailoring and denim into limited-edition pieces.
