MBFWM fashion shows begin on the IFEMA runway

25/01/2018

MARÍA ESCOTÉ was in charge of opening IFEMA’s runway in this 67th edition of MBFWM. The designer presents “Maria on the Moon”, a proposal of retro-futuristic airs that transports us to a magical and romantic trip to the moon. Patent leather, lurex and sequins add a shinny touch to the proposals of Escoté. Trapeze silhouettes, scuba necklines and quilted finishes are the stars of a constellation of garments that can already be purchased in María Escoté’s online store.

ROBERTO VERINO is also committed to the “see now, buy now” formula and puts on the catwalk “Dream Island”, his Spring-Summer 2018 collection, inspired by the island of Lanzarote. Its volcanic earth, its vegetation and sea blue, tint fresh and light creations. The prints and embroideries of Verino’s proposals recreate the series “Fauna Atlántica” by César Manrique. Sequins that simulate scales, brocades with metallic threads, poplin and denim are the protagonists of a proposal marked by lightness.

JORGE VÁZQUEZ is inspired by TV series Dynasty for his fall-winter collection 2018/2019. Eighties silhouettes mark the designer’s proposal. Volume on the shoulders, feathers and skins dress a powerful and elegant woman. Vivid and vibrant colours such as fuchsia pink, carmine red and turquoise join the intensity of black. Strength is the guiding thread of the Galician’s proposals, complementing his looks with an exquisite collection of accessories made by Solantu.

After two seasons of absence, LEANDRO CANO returns to MBFWM with “Corrida”, a collection marked by religion and bullfighting. Unfolding of craftsmanship, a mixture of tradition and innovation, and whimsical volumes are the key to the 15 outfits that the designer places on the runway. This proposal marks a before and after in the path of the designer from Jaen, because from now on, he will present a unique artistic collection a year that will be mixed with another more commercial.

MANÉMANÉ pays homage to all those women who enjoy fashion. Risk and transgression, always so present in the collections of the designer from Extremadura, Miguel Becer, becomes the key to his proposals. Rich fabrics reminiscent of tapestry and tartan fill a collection full of contrasts in which there is a continuous play of shapes, colours and textures. A declaration of love for fashion and trends in which the designer seeks to reaffirm his commitment to internationalization.

JUAN VIDAL presents Cynthia, a strong, sophisticated and distinguished woman. The Alicante designer dresses her up in skirts with sensual openings and refined shirts with bows that are knotted around the neck or that surround the body to be tied at the waist, highlighting her figure. The proposals for the day are dyed in powdery tones, garnet and mauve. With the passing of hours, the colour darkens to grey, night blue and black, and soft fabrics, such as flannel and satin, give way to lame, velvet and sequins, protagonists of hypnotic looks for the night.
