Fashion House Hannibal Laguna presented his Spring/Summer 2027 collection, *Luminhaz*, at Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week Madrid. The proposal transforms light into tangible matter, a piercing beam that reveals the body.
This collection follows *Blacknoir*—a line dedicated to darkness—and charts the reverse path toward clarity. Hannibal Laguna seeks the light found during sunset’s golden hour, when contours soften and everything seems in harmony. The inspiration draws on two elements of Spain’s heritage: the spirituality of the Transparente in Toledo’s Cathedral, where architecture opens to allow the light in, and the radiance of Enrique de Arfe’s monstrance, capable of reflecting and projecting that light.
The dresses reveal the female anatomy, framing it in sculptural silhouettes where tubular lines and peplums, architecturally cut corolla skirts, and waists defined by corsetry, are featured. Necklines leave the collarbone exposed, while sleeves arise in a dome shape over the shoulders. Heavily beaded embroidery covers the garment’s volumes, like a Baroque jewelry box, translating the techniques of monumental goldsmithing into textile form. Metal filigree networks embroidered with pearls and crystals overlay chiffon and lace, creating translucent effects reminiscent of alabaster. The color palette centers on gold treated as a surface texture, ivory nestled within satin folds, and finishes in parchment and lacquer that scatter light in various directions.
