Nuria Sardá, new Member of the Board of Directors

26/10/2017

Designer Nuria Sardá, Creative Director of the high lingerie and swimwear brand Andrés Sardá, joins the Board of Directors of the Asociación de Creadores de Moda de España.

Nuria will occupy the post of Member of the Board, a position in which she will contribute all her experience in the sector as well as her profound knowledge of international markets.

Sardá joins the team made up by Modesto Lomba, President; Roberto Torretta, Vice President; Pedro Trólez, Secretary; Juan Duyos, Treasurer, and Board Members Helena Rohner and Juanjo Oliva.

Andrés Sardá was founded in the 60s and constituted a revolution regarding the design of women’s lingerie and swimwear, becoming one of the most internationally recognized brands in its sector.

Nuria Sardá, daughter of the founder, joined the family business at the end of the 80s. After a brief period devoted to the import of Leavers lace from France and England, in 1989 she accepted the proposal of Eurocorset (former company which owned Andrés Sardá) to open a commercial network in Germany. Later she moved to Paris, where she continued working on promoting Andrés Sardá’s international sales until 1993 when she returned to Barcelona as head of the export department.

Thanks to the experience acquired in her years abroad and her extensive knowledge in the commercial field, from the relationship with suppliers to the point of sale implantation, Nuria Sardá joined the brand’s design team, of which she is Creative Director since 1998. Two years later, Andrés Sardá made the leap to the runway and began presenting its collections at Madrid Fashion Week.

In 2008 the multinational lingerie group Van de Velde acquired the Andrés Sardá label to complement its brand portfolio. The creation is maintained in Barcelona, under the supervision of Nuria Sardá, while the synergies in the supply chains allow the Catalan brand to continue expanding globally.

Throughout its history, the Andrés Sardá brand has received numerous awards, such as the National Fashion Award granted by the Ministry of Industry, Energy and Tourism in 2015.[:]
