Palomo Spain presenta su nueva colección en el Paseo del Prado

PALOMO presenta su decimotercera colección, titulada Córdoba, con un espectacular desfile en el Paseo del Prado de Madrid, un espacio recientemente declarado Patrimonio de la Humanidad por la UNESCO. Con esta presentación, el joven diseñador ha trasladado al centro de la capital, de forma muy emotiva sus raíces e imaginario, rindiendo un particular homenaje a su ciudad natal.

PALOMO vuelve a estudiar el contexto y los antecedentes culturales con los que se concibió su firma, reconociendo una vez más la valía de Madrid, la ciudad que acogió su primer desfile, como fuente inagotable de inspiración en un entorno cuya historia ha perfilado la identidad que tan lejos ha llevado su apellido “Spain”.

Con la intención y la mayor ilusión por compartir estos valores y elementos creativos con su audiencia, Palomo plantea un nuevo nivel de comprensión al interiorizar su ciudad natal, Córdoba, como crisol de culturas en el que se dan la mano las culturas Romana, Árabe, Judía y Cristiana.

La colección trabaja tanto materiales técnicos como tejidos naturales. Lanas, sedas y popelines de algodón, se mezclan con lycras, tafetas y papel metalizado. Rindiendo su particular homenaja a las altas artesanías españolas, como en cada una de sus colecciones, el joven creador vuelve a incluir bordados de cristal, encajes, flecos o el crochet, que se alza ya como un clásico de sus colecciones.

La Banda Sinfónica Municipal de Madrid ha puesto la banda sonora en directo del desfile, junto con la pianista solista cordobesa María Dolores Gaitán, que han interpretado la pieza musical “Palomo Spain”, creada ex profeso para la ocasión y dirigida por Valter Sivilotti.

Para esta espectacular puesta en escena en pleno Paseo del Prado, el creador Alejandro Palomo ha contado con la colaboración del Ayuntamiento de Madrid a través del Área de Cultura y Turismo y su delegada, Andrea Levy.

PALOMO presents his thirteenth collection, titled Córdoba, with a spectacular fashion show at El Paseo del Prado in Madrid, a space recently declared World Heritage Site by UNESCO. With this presentation, the young designer has moved his roots and imaginary to the capital’s centre in a very emotional way, paying a particular tribute to his hometown.

PALOMO once again studies the context and the cultural background with which his signature brand was conceived, once again acknowledging the value of Madrid, the city that hosted his first fashion show, as an inexhaustible source of inspiration in an environment whose history has shaped the identity that has taken his surname “Spain” so far.

With intent, and the greatest enthusiasm to share these values ​​and creative elements with his audience, Palomo proposes a new level of understanding by internalizing his hometown, Córdoba, as a culture melting pot where Roman, Arab, Jewish and Christian cultures come together.

The collection works with both technical materials and natural fabrics. Wool, silk and cotton poplin are mixed with Lycra, taffeta and metallic paper. Paying his particular tribute to premium Spanish crafts, as he does in each of his collections, the young creator once again includes crystal embroidery, lace, fringes or crochet, which now stands as a classic in his collections.

The Madrid Municipal Symphonic Band laid on the fashion show’s live soundtrack, together with Cordovan soloist pianist María Dolores Gaitán, who performed the musical piece “Palomo Spain“, created expressly for the occasion and directed by Valter Sivilotti.

For this spectacular staging in the heart of El Paseo del Prado, creator Alejandro Palomo has counted with the collaboration of Madrid’s City Council through the Culture and Tourism Area’s delegate, Andrea Levy.
