Ángel Schlesser presented his Spring/Summer 2027 collection at OMODA Madrid es Moda, in a fashion show held at La Neomudéjar Museum. The firm takes the suprematism of Ukrainian painter Kazimir Malevich as its starting point to explore geometry as a language and feeling as design material.
In what Ángel Schlesser presents as a second act, the collection recovers the principles of the suprematist artistic movement: the rejection of the material world, the supremacy of emotion over portrayal, and geometry understood as a universal language. The square, the circle, the triangle, and the cross, elementary forms from Malevich’s vocabulary, become the structure from which each garment is created, in an exercise of harmony, precision, and movement that brings fashion closer to architecture and emotion.
This geometric purity translates into patterns of architectural precision, crafted from linen, cotton, grosgrain, organza, and mesh. Handcrafted pleats and the contrast between matte and gloss finishes add depth to a palette that begins with whites, ecru, sand, pearl gray, navy, and black, and unfolds with accents of red, yellow, purple, green, and blue, as if color were marking, point by point, the pure forms that structure the collection.
The result is a restrained and timeless collection that transforms an abstract language into precisely constructed garments, while maintaining its stated objective: that geometry, in addition to establishing order, should evoke emotion.
