Devota & Lomba, under the creative direction of Modesto Lomba, presented its Spring/Summer 2027 collection at OMODA Madrid es Moda, in a fashion show held in Patio Nouvel at Reina Sofía Museum. The collection looks back to the firm’s own design language, reinterpreted through experience and craftsmanship.
In its 80th collection, celebrating the brand’s fortieth anniversary, the dresses fold in on themselves in a reflective exercise, as if contemplating their own construction. Faced with the advance of science and technology toward transhumanism, Modesto Lomba focuses on the essential: the excellence of detail and the precision of a well-constructed garment. This logic is echoed throughout the collection in a botanical keynote, where nothing is imposed and everything finds its own orderly place.
Pleats create a contained volume that expands naturally to gather again in ruffles and pleats, in a constant interplay between structure and movement. The artisans of Ingenio, in Gran Canaria, contribute drawn thread work that revives the historical techniques of open thread work and the reconstruction of forms in linen, while adding time, through the precision of handcraft, to the collection. The flowers that adorn the collection evoke wild gardens that grow undisturbed: beauty that needs no human intervention.
Forty years after its founding, the 80th collection demonstrates an enduring quality through the precision of its construction, garment by garment, transcending each season’s novelty.
