Firm Pedro del Hierro, under the creative direction of Nacho Aguayo and Álex Miralles, presented the Spring/Summer 2027 collection, *Hanami*, at Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week Madrid. The fashion show, held at Arganzuela Crystal Palace Greenhouse, opened the runway’s 84th edition. The collection draws inspiration from the Japanese tradition of cherry blossom viewing; a ritual that views ephemeral beauty and disconnection from the daily routine as a form of luxury.
“Hanami” charts a course between East and West, mindful of the imprint left upon us by the places we traverse, and the one we leave on them. From this dual imprint emerges a collection that translates this cultural intersection into tangible sartorial expressions.
In the womenswear line, volume and draping create a sense of movement: loose cuts, knotted details, and cargo trousers coexist with shimmering jacquards, contrasting sashes, and the Manila shawl reimagined as a garment. Tailoring features wrap-style closures, Neckband collars, and *tang* style silhouettes, with tie-ups replacing buttons and pairing them with Bermuda shorts or draped skirts.
For men, fluidity is achieved through linen, rayon, and washed silk; crinkled and pleated effects reimagine the kimono within tailoring and tuxedo styles, while the shirt takes center stage with new collar designs and bolder fabrics. Open-knit textures reveal glimpses of skin, lending a folk-inspired vibe to jumpers, T-shirts, and polo shirts.
The color palette combines a restrained base: petroleum blue and black, with accents of aquamarine, citrus yellow, coral, and bubblegum pink, reserving the sparkle of sequins for evening wear.
In *Hanami*, the Manila shawl, transformed into a garment, encapsulates, better than any other gesture, the intersection between East and the West that runs through the entire collection.
