Juan Duyos received the Canary Islands Ambassadors Award in the fashion category. The Government of the Canary Islands, through Proexca, granted him the award on September 24th at Forbes House in Madrid. The award acknowledges his support for emerging talent and for promoting Canarian fashion across Spain.
The specific reason for the honor resides in his latest fashion show in Madrid. On March 17th, as part of Madrid Fashion Week, Duyos opened the doors in “Euforia — Un destello, una emoción. Capturar un momento” (Euphoria — A Glimmer, an Emotion. Capturing a Moment)—to four Canarian firms. He integrated their creations into his runway presentation featuring over 40 designs, which were showcased before specialized media, key opinion leaders, and industry professionals. The award was presented by the President of Caja Siete, Manuel del Castillo González, the organization sponsoring the awards.
The Canary Islands Ambassadors Awards acknowledges companies, distributors, establishments, and key opinion leaders based outside the archipelago who contribute directly and consistently to raising awareness of Canarian products and culture in the mainland market. With this acknowledgement, Duyos joins the Canary Islands Ambassadors Network, a community that seeks to connect producers from the islands with key opinion leaders based elsewhere.
Also honored alongside Duyos were Buendía Estudios in the Audiovisual Category; ICT Laboratories at Lleida Science Park, whose Director, Andreu Ibáñez together with Drakhar Studios, represented by its CEO and founder Luis Torres, shared the Video Game Award *ex aequo*; Alcampo, in Agri-food; NTT Data in Technology; and Boluda Corporación Marítima in the Marine and Maritime sector.
