Pilar Dalbat opens her flagship in Granada with an urban fashion show

13/09/2018

Designer Pilar Dalbat has opened a new store in her hometown, Granada, in the popular calle Alhóndiga, very close to the Plaza de la Trinidad, holding a fashion show in the street and in the same location, to present her collection “Zona Norte” in her homeland.

The change of space in the store responds to the designer’s desire to show the creation process to the public, introducing the atelier at the point of sale. “I want customers to feel part of the brand, that they can see how we work each garment from moment zero of its design and creation.” “This model of point of sale, atelier and store, is much more sensory and more experiential. Both the architecture and the decoration invite to have a more personal relationship with customers, especially with brides, with whom I love to work, and bespoke dresses, in which the “one to one” is very important “, explains the creator.

Coinciding with the opening of her new boutique, the central Plaza de la Trinidad has witnessed an urban fashion show totally open to the public with the silent format “A DEAF RUNWAY”, with which it surprised at MBFW Madrid. And the fact is that thanks to the use of “wireless” earphones, both guests and models listened to the music without external interference. In her new proposal, the designer combines traditional Arabic clothing garments in a contemporary key with others that belong to the fashion brand’s universe: blue jeans, plaids or pinstripes.

Kaftans in lamb napa or jeans are drawn and embroidered by hand with leather cut outs and glass beads, offering a reading of the decorative language of coffered ceilings. The dresses, overskirts and white pants flowing and textured with touches of fluorine rose, showcase the prints by textile designer Rebeca Zarza that are already a classic in the collections of Pilar Dalbat. Hand-embroidered fabrics are the basis of Bermuda suits and three-quarter, jump suits and very flared dresses. All the pieces are hand crafted according to traditional methods, faithful to the 100% hand-made signature of the fashion brand.

Pilar Dalbat creates and distributes her collections from Granada at a local and global level with a clear commitment to Made in Spain. Her designs have been through important points of sale such as Baycrews (Tokyo), Bloomingdales (Dubai) or Harvey Nichols (Saudi Arabia). Additionally, Dalbat collaborates assiduously with plastic artists and participates as a teacher in art schools and fashion education centres in our country. In January 2018 she presents for the first time a fashion show at Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week Madrid.
