The young designer joins ACME due to the agreement reached in 2014 between Vogue Spain and the Asociación Creadores de Moda de España, by which the winners of the Who's On Next award become members of this professional organization. With his arrival, Palomo Spain joins Juan Vidal, Maria Ke Fisherman, ManéMané, Moisés Nieto and Leandro Cano, also winners of this prestigious award, who already are members of the Association.
For the designer from Cordova, his arrival in ACME represents another step in the consolidation of Palomo Spain. "I am grateful to be a part of this platform that supports Spanish fashion and its creators. For me it has always been important to transmit a Spanish vision, revisited with new codes and formulas. I think that as a Spanish creator it is very positive to have ACME’S support. Likewise, to share the same organization with colleagues with whom I share generational vision and vocation is very enriching ".
Dramatics, Andalusian traits and an urban and sophisticated aesthetic, acquired in his years as a student at the London College of Fashion, define the work of Alejandro G. Palomo. Since his graduation collection, entitled Je t'aime moi non plus, he has placed himself in the spotlight of criticism for his particular and controversial vision of men's fashion. He founded Palomo Spain in 2015 and his first collection sparked an interest in marketing his creations in the US by Opening Ceremony, as well as in Carine Roitfeld's prestigious CR Fashion Book.
From the town of Posadas, in Cordova, where the signature label’s atelier is located, his work has became increasingly known among press and public becoming a viral phenomenon with the appearance of Beyoncé dressed in Palomo Spain to present her new born twins.
In 2017, Alejandro G. Palomo received an invitation from the CFDA (Council of Fashion Designers of America) to present his collection at New York Fashion Week (NYFW: MEN'S), which days later he would also do at an exclusive event at Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week Madrid.
Palomo Spain was confirmed as one of the young Spanish designers with greater projection upon receiving an invitation from the Talents Committee of the LVMH Fashion Prize to participate in these prestigious awards. The creator thus began an upward path, which led him to show his work for the first time in a fashion show in Paris at the Mona Bismark American Center. Then came the collection Hotel Palomo, presented at the emblematic Hotel Wellington in Madrid, and his participation as a judge in the program of TVE Masters of Couture that, after airing two seasons, has made him a well known face of Spanish fashion.
His popularity among the Spanish public has been growing parallel to the global projection of his work. In February 2018 the Fédération de la Haute Couture et de la Mode invited him to present his fall / winter collection 2018-2019 at Paris Fashion Week and, in May of that same year, he won Vogue Spain’s Who's On Next award. In 2019, Palomo Spain returned to NYFW: MEN'S to present his latest collection, titled 1916, at the emblematic studios Pier59, featuring in key media such as The New York Times, Vogue USA, Paper Magazine, Dazed, iD and WWD, among others. And so it is that his creations, in which he shows care for detail and a taste for craftsmanship, have conquered international celebrity’s stylists such as those of Harry Styles, Rita Ora, Miley Cyrus or Kendall Jenner, and personalities from the local scene such as Rosalía or Paco León.[:]
