The Asociación de Creadores de Moda de España (ACME) strengthens its regional outreach with the addition of Meet Fashion Region of Murcia, a comprehensive project created to advance the fashion industry’s growth in this area, and promoted by the Autonomous Community of the Region of Murcia through the Institute of Cultural Industries and the Arts (ICA), an agency dependent of the Tourism, Culture, Youth and Sports Council.
Aimed at the textile, footwear, accessories, design, trends, aesthetics, and beauty sectors, Meet Fashion Region of Murcia seeks to consolidate and promote the regional creative ecosystem internationally by identifying, supporting, and fostering local as well as emerging talent. Highlighting craftsmanship and professionalization, the program encourages participation in high-profile events and initiatives through strategic collaborations with leading companies and organizations. Tools and training that furthers entrepreneurship and provides practical solutions will also be offered, thus allowing creatives to monetize and scale their projects, always guided by the market’s leading experts.
In the words of Carmen Conesa, Councillor of Tourism, Culture, Youth, and Sports for the Region of Murcia: “Meet Fashion Region of Murcia is a project with an inclusive, cultural vision, deeply connected to our own region’s identity. It celebrates creativity, innovation, and those who make fashion possible in all its facets. It is a meeting point for designers, companies, students, fashion schools, and professionals in textiles, footwear, aesthetics, beauty and design, and as it should be, we rely on ACME for its promotion and development.” Under this premise, during the project’s presentation held in Madrid last December, five leading Spanish fashion firms—Devota & Lomba, Duyos, Oteyza, De la Cierva & Nicolás and Mariano Moreno—reinterpreted the Region of Murcia through their respective creative universes, bringing to life unique pieces inspired by some of the region’s most iconic symbols.
The platform also includes: the contest Meet Fashion Impulsa, exclusively dedicated to showcasing and promoting emerging talent; Meet Fashion Talent event, an essential meeting point for discovering the region’s rising fashion stars and where the contest’s finalists present in Murcia’s runway their collections; and Meet Fashion Focus, a training space that connects established professionals with new talent to foster dialogue, inspiration, and share knowledge.
“The addition of Meet Fashion Region of Murcia reinforces ACME’s role as a driving force within the Spanish fashion ecosystem, integrating tradition, talent, and a vision for the future from a broad territorial perspective,” states Pepa Bueno, Executive Director of the Asociación de Creadores de Moda de España (ACME).
Meet Fashion Region of Murcia joins other regional initiatives integrated into ACME, such as Gran Canaria Moda Cálida and Isla Bonita Moda. This new addition reflects the association’s ongoing work throughout Spain.
