Juan Vidal presented his Fall/Winter 26/27 collection at Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week Madrid, inspired by a whirlwind trip to Istanbul that shifted his creative direction. Seventy-two hours were enough to open up a new imaginary. The city emerges as a territory where sensuality and spirituality coexist, with this tension becoming working material.
The collection stems from this experience transforming it into a fashion narrative. It does not remain as a mere postcard image; it explores the friction between cultures and the possibility of their coexistence without diluting each other. East and West don’t clash, they touch each other. Tradition isn’t cited as ornamentation, but as a living energy. At its heart, the pomegranate: a dense fruit, full of seeds, an ancient symbol of fertility and knowledge. Each seed is part of something greater, and this idea of unity permeates the entire collection.
On the runway, this unity translates into silhouettes that combine structure and fluidity. The fabrics engage in a dialogue between dense and lighter textures, while the palette features deep tones reminiscent of earth and ripe fruit. The construction balances restraint and expressiveness, with details that evoke symbolism without being literal.
The collection doesn’t speak of mixing as a trend, but as a natural state.
