The first edition of the contest Meet Fashion Impulsa, promoted by the Region of Murcia, has announced its winners following the jury meeting held on February 6th. Fashion designer Mariano Moreno won first prize in the Emerging Designers category and will become a member of the Asociación de Creadores de Moda de España (ACME) for one year.
The award was received for his Les Fleurs du Mal collection. Joining ACME, which is a part of the prize, grants the designer access to the Association’s support programs and professional networking in the Emerging Designers category.
The jury was made up by Juan Duyos, president of ACME and the Fundación Academia de la Moda (FAME); Pepa Bueno, executive director of ACME and vice president of FAME; María Ángeles Gómez, head of the Fashion Department at the Higher School of Design of the Region of Murcia; designer María Baraza; and representatives from the organization Meet Fashion Region of Murcia.
In the New Designers category, Ana Gabarrón, with Funny Swing, received the Best Collection Award for Archivo. Paula Jiménez won the Best Presentation Dossier Award for Tradición & Anarkia, and Rosana Cerón, with TIU, received the Best Communication Plan Award for Golden Hour. Furthermore, the following projects were recognized as Outstanding Projects: Anvor Studios (Reflejos), Ángel Paretti (Galerna), Duality (Cybernenes), Pascual Caballero (Al-Nur), Ramil & Pujalte (Señoras de Murcia), RuizzStudio (Striga Noctua), and Zanami (We are creating our own world).
All the selected projects will present their collections at the Meet Fashion Talent event, which is scheduled for Saturday, April 18th in Murcia, where the contest’s finale and the official awards ceremony will take place.
