The Swimwear Fashion Week of Gran Canaria, held within the Gran Canaria Moda Cálida program, has brought together the most important local and global brands to present their proposals for the Spring / Summer 2019 swimwear collections. ACME creators, Agatha Ruiz de la Prada and Dolorés Cortés, showed on this runway, unique in Europe, which counts every year with the presence of representatives from the world of fashion and trends. This edition has had as guests Georgina Rodríguez and tops Jessica Goicoechea, Joana Sanz, Linda Morselli and Aída Artiles, who walked the runway together with models Juan Betancourt, Aridane Da Silva, River Viiperi or Jorge Pérez.
Agatha Ruiz de la Prada jumped on the runway with optimistic explosions of colour. Unique designs for a woman, always cheerful and elegant, who dons on bikinis and swimsuits where protagonists are the Spanish flag, strawberry trees and hoops. And she does not forget men, who appear on the runway in the most unusual and sexy way possible. For them, she suggests colourful Bermuda shorts made with exclusive Visatex upholstery fabrics, combined with plastic, cotton and silk. On this occasion, the accessories aimed to pay a tribute to the press, designing transparent plastic bags where each magazine can be seen, to be the envy of the entire beach.
For her part, Dolorés Cortes presented her Patchwork collection, an ode to individuality, with unconventional silhouettes and colours that convey the assured, even rebellious attitude, of the brand. Protagonists have been brightness, original graphic compositions and different textures, while the prints inspired by patchwork become the designer’s new field of experimentation. A base of simple silhouettes, versatile enough to be used both in and out of the pool, which surprises with its impressive finish.
Gran Canaria Moda Cálida is the first ACME collaborating institution, a figure arisen with the aim of developing collaborative actions and organizing different initiatives to promote fashion. Thanks to this agreement, the Association will advise the companies of this program in their local and global projection and will help them in making decisions to reinforce the fashion made on the island. In this first event, after the signing of the agreement, Modesto Lomba, President of the Association and Pepa Bueno, Director of ACME, have participated as jury in the Ist Heineken New Talent Award, granting the award to the brand "Como la Trucha al Trucho."
